September marks the end of the third quarter and the start of a new season, Autumn. Autumn can be pretty feisty, as the season tends to bring fall allergies and even the start of the flu, but it doesn’t have to be. As cliché as this sounds, it’s time to “fall in love” with your health! See the tips and reminders to help keep you in tip top shape for one of the cooler seasons.

- Eat an apple a day! You know, because “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”…and they are delicious snack!
- Drink plenty of water! There is an article online (somewhere) that says that if you drink a glass of water before you go to bed, and another when you wake up, then you’ll feel good and hydrated for the day.
- Get plenty of rest! You should definitely try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night (or day if you work nights). This way, your body has time to rest and recuperate from the all the hard work it does. Rest is also VERY important if/when you’re sick.
- Get your flu shot! It’s “that time” of the year where it’s going to get colder, and now that the kids are in school, all the illnesses come out to play. Just be careful.
- This one is for the “normal” stuff: wash your hands, cough in your elbow, etc.
At the bare minimum, drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest. You’ll be more in tune with your body and you’ll know what’s best for it. Have a happy and healthy day!
