The Real Teal Mission
 
The Bank of England Mortgage Team in Jacksonville, Florida loves what it calls its “BOE Blue”, but they’re wearing a lot of teal these days. After one of its employees lost her mom to ovarian cancer in 2014, the team rallied to encourage her to begin a nonprofit to raise awareness and support the cause. In October 2015, The Real Teal, Inc. became an official 501(c)(3) run by three Jacksonville employees: Chelsea Bladen, Branch Marketing Director; Megan Kochan, Processing Manager; and Troy Silhan, Production Manager. The team supports The Real Teal by sponsoring and attending its events, wearing teal ribbons and talking teal all over the First Coast. Most recently BOE Jax came together at Orange Theory Fitness, a guided fitness class with a different approach to a workout, to donate a penny for every calorie burned. The added plus was that this was a phenomenal team building event with everyone encouraging the other to push that much harder, just one more rep. The Real Teal mission is to kick cancer below the belt by raising awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms, assisting patients in need with medical costs and to bring together resources to help ease the burden on the patient and their support team. It’s a Great Time to Sell a Home—and to Buy Again
Across the United States, home sellers are feeling good. Great, in fact. And why shouldn’t they? The residential real estate market is healthier now than it has been in over a decade. Across the board, we’re seeing strong demand turn into fast-moving inventory and higher prices.. If there’s been any problem with this picture, it’s that the supply of homes for sale in some markets has been tighter than tight, leaving many would-be buyers in the lurch. Thankfully, there are plenty of factors leading more and more existing homeowners to realize that now is a great time to sell a home—and buyers may see the benefit. Fannie Mae’s National Housing Survey gives a good reading of how Americans view the housing market. In April, 52% of respondents said it is a good time to sell a home. That’s the highest percentage since the survey began in 2010, and it’s almost five times higher than in April 2011.It makes sense that consumers feel that way, right? After all, existing-home sales are up, inventory is moving at a rapid clip, and in many markets home values are either fully recovered or getting close to being fully recovered. What’s not to love?
