7 Steps To Increase Resolution Success

Have you set your 2023 goals yet? Research suggests that over 50% of people quit chasing their resolutions within the first month of the new year. Using these seven steps as a guideline for setting your 2023 resolutions will help you stay on track during the new year!

  1. Determine the primary purpose of your goal (become a healthier version of yourself, develop a new hobby, etc.)
  2. List desired results (lose weight, exercise more, find a productive way to spend otherwise wasted time, etc.)
  3. Set aside the time and resources needed to complete these goals
  4. Find something that motivates you, motivation is key. Once you’ve stuck to your goal for a small amount of time, reward yourself with something that will help motivate you to keep going (getting a new workout set, new shoes, a new book, that workout gear you’ve had your eye on)
  5. Decide if your resolution results are worth the time and effort - if not now, choose a more attainable goal
  6. Structure yourself for success - create appointments or other necessary actions to set yourself up for successful habits
  7. Make yourself accountable or choose an accountability partner. Find a system to track your progress that will also reward you with positive feedback!

With these steps in mind, remember it takes an average of 21 days (3 weeks) to set a habit, good or bad! After sticking with your goal for one month, you'll start seeing results. After two months, so will those around you. Don’t give up - this year is just beginning!

Healthy Hot Chocolate

Healthy Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1 cup light coconut milk (from the can)
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (I use Ghirardelli’s 100% unsweetened cocoa powder)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Directions

Add all ingredients to a small pot and place over medium low heat. Whisk vigorously to combine and to get rid of any lumps of cocoa. Do NOT let the hot chocolate boil or you risk burning the almond milk, which can turn the flavor into something you do not want. Simply warm in the pot until steamy, about 3-5 minutes.

Once hot chocolate is hot, remove from heat and pour into 2 mugs. Top with whipped cream, dairy free whipped cream, marshmallows or vegan marshmallows. Chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder on top are fun too! Enjoy!
