Kentucky Tornado Donation - Our Love For People

BOEKentucky used their Christmas party as a gathering point for tornado donations. Together, the BOEKentucky team, area realtors, and members of the community were able to send donations to two of the hardest hit areas. They sent 2 truck-loads of physical donations and $500 in gift cards to Bowling Green. They were able to send the rest (they had a lot!) of the donations and another $500 in gift cards to Dawson Springs-a location that hit very close to home for our own Katy Jones.

Giving back to the communities we love is a top priority for Bank of England Mortgage. We are honored to help any way we can. #BOEGives

2022 Make This Your Year

It’s officially the new year and you know what that means…set goals, fulfill them, and make this year YOUR year!

Did you set any goals for the year? If not, don’t fret! Here are some ideas to help get you started.

Smile more!

According to verywellmind.com, a few reasons why you should smile more are that smiles can help reduce stress, elevate your mood, lower your blood pressure, and help you stay positive.

Give more compliments!

Receiving compliments is always nice, and even better when you’re having an off day. They can help turn your mood around and even turn that “frown upside down”! Try to give at least 3 compliments a day, even if it’s just to complement their outfit. A little bit goes a long way!

Take breaks from social media!

Social media, like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, can be super fun, but also super addictive. It’s nice to keep in touch with family via these social platforms, but it’s even better to pick up the phone and call them or go visit them. Trust me, the break will make ALL the difference.

Freeze your spending!

Figuratively, not literally. If you’re looking to save money, try to stop spending money on non-essential things for a period of time. To start out, pick a month where you only spend money on essential things, like bills, gas, food, etc. You’ll be surprised how much money you save by bringing your lunch to work and even meal prepping dinners!

Eat breakfast!

As you all know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. By doing this, your tummy won’t be grumbly and wondering when you’re going to put food in it. If you’re not normally a breakfast person, or you’re an “on-the-go” person, try a nutritious smoothie or healthy granola bar. Your body will be happy, therefore you will too!

Take more walks!

This goes along with the social media breaks. Getting outside for fresh air is good for you! For starters, it counts as a work out (if you’re into that kind of thing), and if you have dogs, or any other pets that like to walk outside, they will LOVE you for this. No one wants to be couped up in the house ALL day every day (unless it’s below freezing. Ewe.). Have you heard of cabin fever? Yeah, it’s terrible.

Meditate!

Have you tried meditating? You should! Set aside some time each day to sit in silence and just focus on your breathing –breathe in for four (4) seconds, hold for four, and breath our for four. Your body and mind will thank you. That and now you’ll have a clear mind to tackle anything on your to-do list.

You can do this! The pandemic made everything all wonky the last two years, so whatever you decide to do, do it for YOU. This year is YOUR year and don’t you forget it!
