This year, BOE Marketing has worked diligently on a campaign to honor Bank of England's 125 years in operation. We have taken pride in creating a campaign that resonates with both our esteemed employees and valued customers, encouraging them to share in the celebration.

The achievement of serving our customers for 125 years fills us with immense pride and gratitude. We extend our sincere appreciation to each member of the Bank of England and Bank of England Mortgage family for their invaluable contributions that have made this journey possible. As we celebrate this BOE’s 125th birthday this month, on August 8th, join us in saying “Happy Birthday BOE!”

Celebrate 125 Years

In 1898, Established with a capital stock of $10,000 on August 8, 1898, the Bank of England was the first bank in England, Arkansas. During the Great Depression when many banks failed, the Bank of England only closed during national bank holidays.

In 1946, Setri Boles started out as a cashier for the bank. He became president in 1962 and held that position until 1989. Upon Mr. Boles’ retirement in 1989, his son-in-law, Gary Canada became president. Since its inception, the Bank of England has been a stable community bank and is dedicated to putting its customers first.

In 2002, Bank of England extended its mortgage operations and established corporate offices in Little Rock, Arkansas. Today, the mortgage division has expanded by offering the most comprehensive selection of mortgage options on the market, a mobile application and the newest technology for loan processes. Through its background in customer-focused service and dedication to innovative mortgage products, the mortgage division has grown to a company of more than 900 employees with branches in 40 states.

Since 1898, the Bank of England has provided expertise and services offered by larger financial institutions while keeping the integrity of a local, community bank. The company has created a reputation of helping its customers find the right financial solutions for their individual needs.
