Moving can be stressful but we are here to help with some tips and tricks to organize your move.
Step one, is the one that will save you the most time overall is planning out the move room by room. Plan a day to pack up each room and label all the boxes accordingly. Make sure to label the boxes on all sides so that you can easily identify which room they need to go in on move-in day. This is also a great time to declutter your home because not everything needs to go to the new home.
Things that do need to go to your new home and will be used on moving day should be included into your moving day kits. The first kit you should create is a cleaning kit. In this kit it should include window cleaner, products to dust and floor cleaner. You should also have a tool kit that should include a measuring tape and items to hang pictures. Having these items easily accessible and all in one place will save you time.
Another bag that will be helpful will be to pack an overnight bag. Moving your entire life from one house to another will undoubtedly be exhausting. By packing an overnight bag you will be able to take care of yourself after your busy day. Then you can relax in your new home without having to completely unpack your life on day one.
The final tip for moving is one that will help in rehoming your home office or really any electronics. It is to take pictures of your electrical wires before unplugging for an easy set up. And take it a step further by labeling bags for each set of cords, just say ‘no’ to a box of jumbled cords.
